Did you know that one of the most important concepts in ancient Celtic life in Ireland was that of the Anam-Cara, the “Soul Friend”? These friends would be the people who were considered an essential and integral part of one’s spiritual development and involved having a compassionate presence in each other’s lives. 

Ogham is an ancient form of Celtic writing using dashes and lines from a central marking and is usually read from top to bottom. Used mostly in Ireland and Wales from about 400 – 900 AD, Ogham is sometimes called the “Celtic Tree Alphabet” as within the language individual letters can be ascribed to the names of various trees that would be native to Ireland.

Large ~ the large wooden moon is approximately 6.5″ (165mm) long at its longest part
Medium ~ the medium wooden moon is approximately 5″ (120mm) long at its longest part
Small ~ the small wooden moon is approximately 3.5″ (90mm) long at its longest part
 
The string measures approx 11″ (280mm) from the top of the moon to the metal hoop which is used for hanging.

BEECH has long been associated with ancient knowledge. It is said to act as a “guidance from the past” and can help to gain insight. In the home, it is good for healing, meditation and protection.The wood is protected by using approximately 4-6 coats of Danish Oil and is hung on extremely strong, high quality braided thread. Moreover, this string does not degrade in sunlight and therefore is ideal for hanging in a sunny window.
