Set of Quartz Crystal Platonic Solids
A set of five Platonic solids made from Clear Quartz Crystal.
What is a Platonic Solid, I hear you ask? Well, in mathematical terms a Platonic solid is defined as convex regular Polyhedra (which is a Greek term meaning 'many faces'). There are only five of these, each one characterised by the fact that each face is a 'regular polygon'; that is, a straight-sided figure with equal sides and equal angles.
Plato coined the term as each of these shapes reflect the magic of sacred geometry in their beautiful crystalline forms. What's more; each of the five Platonic solids also represents a point on the Pentagram, relating to the four elements in nature plus the fifth; spirit.
So here they are:
1: A Tetrahedron (4 faces) or pyramid represents the element of Fire
2: A Cube (6 faces) represents the energy of Earth
3: An Octahedron (8 faces) represents the energy of Air
4: An Icosahedron (20 faces) represents the energy of Water
5: A Dodecahedron (12 faces) represents the energy of the Universe or Spirit
This lovely little set would make a beautiful addition to your altar or sacred space, and can be worked with for elemental rituals and practice.
Note: Each tiny crystal measures between 10 mm and 15 mm per side
