Hatchets and axes, like this pretty little Viking hatchet, were common in the Viking Age. This is a handy, small version of the notorious bearded ax.


With the lively wooden handle and the aesthetically shaped axe head, this small, handy and very everyday Viking axe is a real gem. 


Dimensions : stem 25 cm, head 10 x 9 x 2 cm. 


The axe head is masterfully shaped and is based on original finds from the Viking era. The surface of the Viking ax is on gloss polished, and the cutting edge  is sharp ground. 


The axe head is made of stainless steel type 430, a high-quality steel alloy that contains 18% chromium and no nickel. Such an 18/0 stainless steel has a noble look and a long-lasting, high-gloss finish and offers excellent resistance to rust and corrosion. The hardness is HRC 52-55 Rockwell.
